The FNSSS00005 Commercial Law for Tax Agents Skill Set is designed for those who are seeking registration as a Tax Agent with the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB).
To become a registered Tax Agent, you must satisfy the relevant qualifications and experience requirements that are set out in the Tax Agent Services Regulations 2009 (TASR). Successful completion of this course meets the requirement for a Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) approved course in Commercial Law.

Qualification pathways
This short course has national recognition. We recommend you progress into the FNS50222 Diploma of Accounting if you have not completed an Accounting qualification. Tax Agent registration will be the next step through the Tax Practitioners Board once you complete the required educational course requirements.
Course Requirements
This is an open entry course with no pre-requisite qualifications. To ensure you complete the course successfully, the following entry requirements apply:
Participants must:
- Be aged 18 years or over
- Have a recent minimum of two years of industry experience
- Have sound language and literacy skills (at least Year 10 English, or equivalent)
- Be able to commit to the course duration and time commitment
- Have access to a computer and the internet
- Supply a Unique Student Identifier (USI)
- Have a valid email account and a telephone with a valid telephone number for learning and assessment communication and support sessions
