Course Overview

The course focuses on promoting safe work practices through the application of correct lifting techniques, safe body mechanics, hazard identification, and effective risk control measures in accordance with workplace health and safety (WHS) requirements. Participants will learn how to assess manual handling risks, plan safe movements, use mechanical aids and team lifting techniques where appropriate, and maintain proper posture to minimise strain and fatigue.

Course Requirements

This is an open entry course with no prerequisite qualifications. To ensure you complete the course successfully, the following entry requirements apply:

Participants must:

• Be aged 18 years or over
• Have recent minimum two years of industry experience
• Have sound language and literacy skills (at least Year 10 English, or equivalent)
• Able to commit to the course duration and time commitment
• Learners must have access to a computer and the internet
• Must supply a Unique Student Identifier (USI)
• Have a valid email account and a telephone with a valid telephone number for learning and assessment communication, support session
