This is an open entry course with no pre-requisite qualifications. To ensure you complete the course successfully, the following entry requirements apply:
- Be aged 18 years or over
- Have sound language and literacy skills (at least Year 10 English, or equivalent)
- Able to commit to the course duration and time commitment
- Learners must have access to a computer with internet and Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, or equivalent alternatives.
- Must supply a Unique Student Identifier (USI)
- Have a valid personal email account and a telephone with a valid telephone number for learning and assessment communication, support session
Course Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the BSB41419 Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety Core Units, you will be awarded the Statement of Attainment for these five Core Units. Upon successful completion of the diploma course, you will be awarded the nationally recognised BSB51319 – Diploma of Work Health and Safety qualification. Please note you can only start your diploma units once you complete your Cert IV Core Units and awarded Statement of Attainment.
The BSB51319 – The Diploma of WHS will build on your existing experience in work health and safety, and teach you additional skills to manage WHS hazards and risks. You’ll learn to contribute to systematic management of WHS risks; develop, implement, and maintain WHS management systems, as well as helping to implement emergency procedures. Overall, you’ll learn skills to manage and investigate WHS hazards, risks, incidents, and tools to a high standard.

Course Duration
Learners will be required to undertake 5 core units of BSB41419 Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety and 10 units of study including 5 core units and 5 elective units of the BSB51319 Diploma of Work Health and Safety. Course units are delivered sequentially and should be completed over a 18-month period. The units in each stream have been selected to give you the most comprehensive overview of that business area at a management level.
