Course Overview
This training focuses on reducing the risk of injuries to both workers and patients through the use of correct patient handling techniques, safe body mechanics, hazard identification, and risk control measures. Participants will learn how to safely assist, move, transfer, reposition, and support patients or clients while complying with workplace health and safety (WHS) requirements and infection control procedures. The course also promotes safe use of manual handling equipment and strategies to maintain dignity, comfort, and safety for patients during care activities.

Course Requirements
This is an open entry course with no prerequisite qualifications. To ensure you complete the course successfully, the following entry requirements apply:
Participants must:
- Be aged 18 years or over
- Have recent minimum two years of industry experience
- Have sound language and literacy skills (at least Year 10 English, or equivalent)
- Able to commit to the course duration and time commitment
- Learners must have access to a computer and the internet
- Must supply a Unique Student Identifier (USI)
- Have a valid email account and a telephone with a valid telephone number for learning and assessment communication, support session
