This is an open entry course with no pre-requisite qualifications. To ensure you complete the course successfully, the following entry requirements apply:
- Be aged 18 years or over
- Have sound language and literacy skills (at least Year 10 English, or equivalent)
- Able to commit to the course duration and time commitment
- Learners must have access to a computer with internet and Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, or equivalent alternatives.
- Must supply a Unique Student Identifier (USI)
- Have a valid personal email account and a telephone with a valid telephone number for learning and assessment communication, support session
Course Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the six Core Units, you will be awarded the Statement of Attainment for these six Core Units. Upon successful completion of the diploma course, you will be awarded the nationally recognised BSB50620 Diploma of Marketing and Communication qualification. Please note you can only start your diploma units once you complete your pre-requisite Core Units and awarded Statement of Attainment.
The BSB50620 Diploma of Marketing and Communication qualification will make you workforce-ready to be employed as an Marketing and communication professional in almost every industry, such as public relations, media, communication, education, mining and resources, media, finance or hospitality and tourism. Graduates of the BSB50620 – Diploma of Marketing and Communication will develop an understanding of the dynamics and principles underlying effective functioning of work groups, as well as the necessary skills to competently function within small and/or large organisations.

Course Duration
Learners will be required to undertake 6 core units of BSB40820 Certificate IV in Marketing and Communication and 12 units of study including 5 core units and 7 elective units of the BSB50620 Diploma of Marketing and Communication. Course units are delivered sequentially and should be completed over a 18-month period. The units in each stream have been selected to give you the most comprehensive overview of that business area at a management level.
